About Chad White Wolf Koch

white wolfHello, I am Chad White Wolf Koch. I started my path to Martial Arts in 1998 at University of Illinois while studying for a degree in architecture. I started a Tae Kwon Do class with friends as a way to exercise, have fun and work out stress from studying. I and five other students in architecture joined one of the school's Tae Kwon Do clubs. After the summer break, I was the only one to continue attending classes out of my group of friends. In another year, there were only two of us still training out of my original class of over 100 white belts. We both continued on to acheive Black Belt ranking as well as completing Instructor Training. I had the priveledge of practicing with and teaching children and adults of all ages until 2003 when I moved to Chicago.

I continued to practice and teach after moving to Chicago. I was able to gain experience working with Autism as well as ADD/ADHD. I also added Yoga to my practice in 2006. This enhanced my Martial Arts practice greatly. I wanted to share these benefits with other people, so I started to work closely with my Yoga teacher apprenticing her and started Teaching in 2010. While pursuing my Architectural career, I began to notice how much more I enjoyed Martial Arts and Teaching. I found that I wanted to be teaching full time. I started to formulate a plan. My first class as White Wolf Academy was in September 2008. Soon after, I was laid off from my architecture job.

kawiSince there were no jobs in architecture, I seized the opportunity before me. I threw myself into teaching full time. In 2010, I accepted an apprenticeship with nancy Desert Lizard heraty in a private yoga class in Brookfield, IL. That led to me accepting an apprenticeship in 2012 with Gabriel Halpern, foremost Iyengar Yoga teacher in Chicago and director of Yoga Circle. I now teach Martial arts and Yoga in four different Park Districts all over the near western suburbs of Chicago. I have worked with hundreds of individuals and families. I have had experience working with people diagnosed with Autism, ADD, ADHD, Ceribal Palsey, Down Syndrom and Deafness.
